During the Google Cloud Next ’17 conference in San Francisco, Diane Greene, SVP Google Cloud, and Bernd Leukert, in charge of products and innovation at SAP announced a strategic co-innovation partnership. Efforts are being directed at creating secure public cloud solutions that feature SAP HANA and other solutions.
Google Cloud + SAP: Best in class flexibility, scalability, and speed
As a result of this partnership, SAP’s flagship products will all now run on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is great for taking advantage of the network’s extended reach and speed.
SAP products, like SAP HANA, express edition, which comes with an IDE (Integrated Development Environment), will be made available to developers and customers through Google’s marketplace. But SAP is also working to make their own SAP Cloud Platform available on Google as a PaaS (Platform as a Service) offering. This can enable “customers to build enterprise cloud applications from the endless combinations of services and APIs GCP and SAP Cloud Platform offer.” SAP is promising to announce more details about this over the next few months.
“SAP and Google are helping global enterprises run their businesses on a highly secure public cloud”
Taking enterprise cloud applications to the next level
Google and SAP’s collaboration is aiming towards data transparency and custodian capabilities for SAP on GCP, working to extend GCP’s capabilities through solutions developed together by taking advantage of SAP’s expertise for improved governance, risk and compliance management.
“Today’s digital transformation is driving rapid change across all industries, and its effects are profound.”
SAP and G Suite integration provides the best of both worlds
SAP Cloud Platform’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution integrates Google Suite and GCP, allowing users to be given access any application from any device at any time. Customers can experience increased productivity with improved flexibility and usability in regular day-to-day business processes.
All in all, this is a great partnership that promises to transform business processes and help customers stay competitive in the digital economy.
